December 2024 Update

First Edition of Native Blood Published

It’s official. Native Blood is finally out. I’ve enrolled it into Kindle Unlimited, so it’s free to read for everyone that uses the service. It has a price tag too, intended for anyone that wants to support my work and the development of the Native Blood series. The first edition of Volume I is a solo work, but further editions might appear if the book catches on and success allows me to revamp the text and cover. For some readers it’ll be the first time they’ve ever touched one of my stories and for others, finally holds actual meaning. I’ve worked hard to get this book out, and though perfection’s impossible, I’m proud to independently release my first story.

My imprint name is called Dark Dreamer Press and this line will cover all of the titles I’ve introduced on the site so far. Readers who’ve read and enjoyed more than one of my stories will be pleased to know there’s a thread connecting them all. Reading every release will unveil the link of a much larger universe. Eventually, I’ll update this site with a page for Dark Dreamer that details this overarching concept.

Native Blood is not an easy read and was never intended to be, but for a certain breed of reader, it hits a lot or all of the right notes. I’ve always been a definite fan of horror, and enjoy scifi a little more, but the world of fantasy is pretty foreign to me. However, I’m writing it. It’s one of the tools in my arsenal. My inspirations come from one of my favorite subjects, mythology, along with folk/fairy tales and the kind of magic you’d find in a horror movie.

Magical

So, I’m hoping the experience is enjoyable for readers, and am open to response and feedback. I’ve greatly appreciated my interactions with readers in the past, and readers often give me a lot to think about with their perspectives. First and foremost, I write about humanity, so I appreciate all the ways humanity’s shared with me, the good and the bad. That’s why I write, I’m a visitor here, but like many, I’d like to leave a mark before I go. Dark Dreamer Press is an encasement of my interests in life/death/undeath.

Native Blood might be out, but there’s a few other hurdles left to cross. The title’s been submitted for copyright protection, and I still have to set up my author’s area backstage on Amazon. Pretty things up–you know? As you can see in the graphic above from my book page, I’m missing an author image, and there’s more I can do on my profile. I’m working on that next. I’ll be adding a real life image of myself as well so that there’s a face attached to this pen name.

I’m humble writer, far from a perfect person, but my passion for what I do I hope shows in the stories I put out. For the readers that don’t mind waiting for the next part, or what I’ll do next, 2024 marks the year where I’ve first started creating my catalogue.

One accomplishment just leads to the next. There’s little time to celebrate if you want to get things done, especially if you have a lot to say.
